Time FLIES!

I can't believe Addison is already 2 weeks old today! As I did with the boys, I took pictures of her when she was 1 week old. I usually do these in black and white but haven't gotten around to changing that so for this purpose they'll be in color.

I'll use a term my niece Presley uses...

I got "mad skills" with the camera. :)

Addison's Second Doctor's Visit

When Addison was 3 days old we took her to the doctor for her newborn checkup. She did great, only crying when they were checking her weight. She was down to 8 lbs and 5 oz. That was the weight she was at when she left the hospital and the doctor said she wanted Addison to be at this weight if not more at this checkup. So that was good.

Yesterday Addison saw the doctor for her 2 week checkup. Her weight was up to 9 lbs 6 oz (75%) and she was 22 1/4 inches long (95%). Doctor said she was growing wonderfully. She's right on track with the boys when they were that age. I guess I just like to grow my kids big! Ha!

First Bath

I don't understand it but all three of my kids screamed bloody murder for their first baths. :) Addison screamed the entire time and wasn't happy until she was dried and wrapped up in a towel. Oh well!

Addison's First Doctor's Checkup

On Saturday, Nov. 15th, Addison made her first visit to the doctor's office for a newborn checkup.

She did great, only crying when being weighed. Doctor said she looked great and was beautiful! :)

She was down to 8 lbs 5 oz. Doctor said that was her weight when she was discharged from the hospital so it was good that it wasn't any lower.

Happy Birthday Jayson!

With all the excitement surrounding Addison's upcoming birth Jayson's birthday crept up on us. We decided to have his birthday party further along in November so I could recover. It would have been too hectic to have a party around his actual birthday (Nov. 7th) and Addison's birth (Nov. 11th).

But we did give Jayson his present on his birthday. He's gotten presents from Mee-Maw and Daddy-Daddy, Mimi and Papa, and Aunt Andrea and Uncle Ensley. So his birthday hasn't gone totally unnoticed.

Anyway, just wanted to wish my baby a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Welcome Addison!!!

Addison is finally here! I am finally caught up on emails and somewhat settled so I figured it was time to post the birth story and pictures.

I was scheduled to be induced on Tuesday, Nov. 11th. When I get to the hospital I am told my water has already broken and that I am already 5 cm dilated. I was shocked! I had a hunch that my water broke and had a few contractions while we were getting ready but I just brushed it off as false labor. I'd been having false labor pains for 2 weeks already. So it was a surprise to hear I was already half-way there once I got to the hospital.

So the doctor tells me we are no longer inducing labor as I am already in labor. Yipee! Got settled into hospital room at 7:30 am and Addison was born at 2:16 p.m. It was VERY fast compared to the boys.

She was 8 lbs and 13 oz and was 21 inches long. She has blue eyes and light hair like Jayson. Everyone at the hospital commented on her long eyelashes and kept telling us she won the "cutest baby award." Of course I agree but I am a little biased. :)
