Ouch!

A couple of days ago as I was loading the kids into the van Jayson got tripped up and fell out of the van door face first onto our aggregate driveway. He tore his face up pretty good. Had a cut on his forhead, a nasty scrape on his nose, a deep cut on his upper lip under his nose, and had busted the inside of his lower lip.

Needless to say we made a trip to the doctor to get it cleaned up and patched up. He luckily didn't need stitches. The doc was able to use Dermabond (glue basically). His upper lip split back open during the day so we made a second trip to have it re-glued. This time it worked.

My boys are super active and do just about anything. Jump from the stairs. Hang on to a zipline in the back yard. Ride their bikes down the driveway as fast as they can. And how do they get hurt? By falling out of the van... Go figure!

Thanks Dr. Walters and Nurse Sandra for fixing him up!

Think on these things...

Mission Lazarus

We've come to know of this ministry through our church and think it is wonderful! It is a faith-based program in Honduras.

This is their mission statement: "Mission Lazarus is a holistic ministry that focuses on basic primary education, skill development, health education and treatment, agricultural development, and preaching and teaching the Word of God."

Here is a picture of the coffee we purchased. Very strong but good stuff!

Out of the mouth of babes...

Jayson will kill me one day for sharing this but hey, I'm going to scar him one way or another simply because I'm his mother. Ha!

The story goes...

Jayson woke up from a nap with wet underware. When we asked him if he peed in his britches he loudly proclaimed, "Bryson did it!"

VBS

The boys went to VBS at our church this past July. On one of the nights, Jay took me and Addion and date to Pei Weis. The boys had a blast and made some cool things. The last night there was an ice cream social. What a way to end it!

Bryson's new thing is to make crazy faces in all his photos...

Addison - 9 Months Old

Addison is 9 months old now and in to EVERYTHING. She's crawling and pulling up so I have had to babyproof the home and put the gates up. As a result, she's had her first boo-boo. She pulled up on the boys' stepstool (for brushing their teeth), lost her footing, and fell face-first on the corner giving herself a black eye. (You can see in the pic where she's banging the pots.) I'm sure it's the first of many scrapes, especially with 2 older brothers. :)

Addison's eating tablefood now and won't touch babyfood. She can wave and say bye-bye and her favorite thing to do is laugh at the boys. They love to make her laugh.

She recently went to the doctor and got some shots. She was 17 lbs 8 oz (20%) and 29 1/2 inches (95%). Long and lean. Wish I could say that about myself. Ha!

We've having a lot of fun with her. Little girls really are sugar and spice and everything nice!

First Day of Preschool!

This has been a busy year because Jayson started 3-year-old preschool! It really seems like yesterday we were doing this with Bryson.

Jayson has "Miss" Sandra, who was also Bryson's teacher. I was very curious to see how he would handle going today (his first day) because this past week if we mentioned school he would stomp his foot and loudly proclaim, "I'm not going to school. I'm staying home." But this morning he finally warmed up to the idea, strapped on his backpack, and walked right in. He was playing and wouldn't even look at me when I told him bye. :) (Sandra has a lot of cool toys in her room.) He looked so much older being in the classroom setting. *sniff sniff*

My First Grader!

Hard to believe but Bryson has started 1st grade this year. The good news is he loves school and loves his teacher. Bryson wanted his picture taken by the mailbox because he planted morning glories there. It is amazing how big it has grown. :) We also took a picture by a tree Jay planted when Jayson was Addison's size. It's cool to see how much it has grown in the last 3 years.
